Terms of Service

1. Services
Short Lawns provides garden and property maintenance services, including but not limited to lawn mowing, edging, pruning, hedging, weeding, green waste removal, and general property upkeep.
All services are provided as agreed upon at the time of booking or as part of an ongoing service arrangement.
2. Bookings & Scheduling
Services are provided by appointment.
Regular clients may be scheduled on a recurring basis (e.g., weekly, fortnightly, monthly).
Weather conditions, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances may require rescheduling. Short Lawns will make every reasonable effort to notify clients of any changes.
Clients are responsible for providing safe access to the property on the scheduled day.
3. Pricing & Payment
Pricing is quoted individually for each property and service.
Invoices are issued after completion of work, unless otherwise agreed.
Payment is due within 7 days of invoice date.
Late payments may incur an administration fee and/or suspension of future services until payment is received.
Extra services (e.g., removal of excess green waste, additional gardening not included in the standard service) will be quoted and invoiced separately.
4. Cancellations
Cancellations require at least 24 hours’ notice.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a fee of up to 50% of the scheduled service.
Repeated cancellations may result in termination of ongoing service agreements.
5. Client Responsibilities
Clients must ensure lawns, gardens, and work areas are free from obstructions (e.g., toys, hoses, animal waste).
Short Lawns reserves the right to refuse or stop work if conditions are unsafe or unhygienic.
Clients are responsible for securing pets prior to scheduled services.
6. Health & Safety
Short Lawns follows industry-standard safety practices.
Services will not be carried out in unsafe weather conditions (e.g., storms, extreme heat).
Use of chemicals (weed spray, fertilisers, etc.) will only be applied with client approval.
7. Liability
While all care is taken, Short Lawns is not responsible for pre-existing damage to property, plants, or turf.
Clients are encouraged to advise of any delicate plants, fixtures, or areas requiring special care.
Short Lawns holds appropriate insurance for public liability.
8. Termination of Services
Either party may terminate ongoing service arrangements with 14 days’ notice.
Short Lawns may immediately suspend or terminate services for non-payment, repeated cancellations, or unsafe conditions.
9. Commercial Contracts
Where services are provided under contract (e.g., for NDIS, WorkSafe, body corporate, or real estate), additional terms may apply as outlined in the service agreement.
